Postdoctoral Fellow Role
Prospera is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in clinical psychology interested in gaining experience at the intersection of maternal mental health, mental health tech, clinical supervision, research, and product development. This fellowship is ideal for candidates who want to broaden their expertise beyond traditional clinical and academic roles and gain experience working within a mental health technology startup.
The fellow will work closely with Prospera’s co-founders and licensed clinical psychologists, Dr. Sarah Stanger and Dr. Andrea Niles, and will receive supervision toward licensure while contributing to multiple aspects of Prospera’s clinical model. This role is ideal for candidates interested in clinical, product, or research roles at mental health startups.
This position provides unique training opportunities across several domains:
- Clinical leadership and supervision of mental health coaches with a focus on evidence-based practice for perinatal populations
- Digital mental health research and outcomes evaluation
- Mental health product development and content creation
Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Supervision
- Lead four weekly case consultation meetings for mental health coaches
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to coaches around clinical decision-making
- Assist coaches in navigating complex or higher-risk cases
- Support coaches in responding to urgent or high-risk situations
- Review session recordings and documentation and provide structured feedback
- Meet individually with coaches to provide mentorship and performance feedback
- Participate in new coach training
Research & Outcomes Evaluation
- Collaborate with Prospera leadership on research examining program effectiveness and clinical outcomes
- Analyze clinical data and contribute to scientific manuscripts and conference presentations
- Support dissemination of Prospera’s clinical model in academic and professional venues
Clinical Content & Product Development
- Collaborate with Prospera leadership to develop and refine digital tools and psychoeducational content used within the Prospera platform
- Help translate evidence-based psychological interventions into scalable digital formats
- Contribute to improving Prospera’s clinical model and coaching manual
Training & Professional Development
- Receive weekly individual supervision with licensed psychologists focused on clinical decision-making, supervision skills, and professional development toward independent licensure
- Attend ongoing professional development didactics in perinatal mental health and digital mental health care delivery
- Gain exposure to the operations of a digital mental health startup
Requisites
- Doctorate (PhD) in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program
- Completion of an APA-accredited internship
- All doctoral degree requirements completed prior to fellowship start date
- Strong training in evidence-based cognitive and behavioral interventions, including:
- Cognitive restructuring
- Behavioral activation
- Exposure therapies (in vivo, imaginal, and interoceptive)
- Cognitive defusion
- Distress tolerance skills
- Assertive communication
- Experience with assessment and triage of suicidality, psychosis, and mania
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in working in digital mental health and innovative models of care delivery
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with clinical supervision, mentoring trainees, and/or group supervision settings
- Experience in clinical outcome research design and data analysis
- Experience translating clinical science into digital tools, psychoeducation, or structured interventions
- Interest in working within an early-stage startup environment

Position Details
- Full-time, W2 position
- This is a fully remote position
- Salary: $67,000 (we will follow NIH postdoctoral funding guidelines for 2026-2027)
- 1 year position, with potential renewal for 1-2 additional years
- Start Date: Flexible, Summer 2026
